Diana Mauriks

RMT

Born and raised on the North Shore, Diana has worked as an RMT in the Sea to Sky corridor for the past 12 years. Squamish is now where she calls home.

Diana grew up at the base of the North Shore mountains and spent her younger years ski racing, riding horses, mountain biking and ocean kayaking. After completing her education with a diploma in Outdoor Recreation Management and a diploma in Massage Therapy, she moved to Whistler. It was there that her love for telemark skiing began and her hard work and determination gained her a position on the Canadian National Telemark Ski Team.  For four years Diana followed the World Cup racing circuit and the U.S Telemark Free skiing circuit, successfully meeting her athletic goals in both disciplines.

Diana’s first career began as a commercial fisher on her father’s salmon troller in the Queen Charlotte Islands. This unique work opportunity taught Diana the benefits of massage therapy to help relieve the aches and pains of physical labor work.

Continuing education with massage therapy has allowed Diana to integrate her treatment style. Some of these techniques include: myofacial and neuromuscual therapy, sport massage, and deep relaxation techniques to help calm the nervous system. Core stabilization exercises are also integrated when needed combined to help with pelvic imbalances and low back problems. With recent certification in Equine massage Diana has enjoyed the opportunity to work on horses.

Experience in the field of Massage Therapy and in her athletic and career background, has allowed Diana to gain insight into body awareness, and personal growth. It is through massage therapy that Diana enjoys facilitating others to achieve their goals and potentials through body awareness, which in turn promotes optimal wellness.
