Alli Redding
R.Ac, BA
Alli has been intrigued by the human body and how it functions, changes, and heals most of her life. This intrigue led her to study health and well-being (kiniesiology) at Simon Fraser University, and eventually, along with Alli’s love of the wilderness and sense of adventure led her to Nelson, BC where she discovered the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences where she studied, skied and lived for 4 years. The combination of living in a natural and spiritual place, and studying an ancient Eastern medicine seemed to fit hand in hand.
Traditional Chinese medicine, through the study of acupuncture and Chinese herbs taught Alli the importance of balance and harmony in her own life. She learned the value of recognizing that her health is distinct to her self, which in turn taught her this most profound understanding of the uniqueness of others.
Through Alli’s education at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences, she was trained to meet and exceed all the guidelines proposed by the BC Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist governing board (CTCMA), and thus has been licensed in BC since 2004. In 2005 she spent 4 months in China studying and working at a famous Bei Jing Western Medical hospital that had a Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture wing. This experience provided her with a cultural knowledge that is rooted in this eastern medicine, and showed her on a large scale the numerous conditions that acupuncture and Chinese herbs can treat on their own, and in combination with western medical therapies. Alli has also completed a number of continuing education courses on the following subjects:
- Treating Female Fertility with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
- Acupuncture for Pregnancy and Post Natal Health.
- Technique and Alignment accompanied with Yoga Theory.
- Ear Acupuncture for Addictions.
Alli spends as much time as she can outside enjoying the fresh air, the multitude of outdoor activities that Squamish has to offer and the wonderful folks that live here. She looks forward to meeting new clients and working with them to achieve a balanced, health-filled life. From health comes happiness.
